SPIP herkent een bepaald aantal bestandsformaten in de lus DOCUMENTS.
Wanneer SPIP een bepaald formaat niet herkent, zal dat bestand door SPIP om veiligheidsredenen worden gezipt. Dit voorkomt bijvoorbeeld dat een php-bestand als uitvoerbaar bestand wordt geïnterpreteerd, wanneer het als bijlage bij een rubriek wordt gevoegd.
Wil je een extra bestandsformaat toevoegen aan de lijst van herkende formaten, bijvoorbeeld een PowerPoint (.pps), dan moet je de extensie toevoegen aan de tabel spip_types_documents van je SPIP database. Je kunt dit bijvoorbeeld doen via phpMyAdmin [1].
